Behind Bright Beginnings

Helping families and schools navigate behavior with confidence, compassion, and real-life solutions.

Meet Our Founder

With over two decades of experience in behavior support, I bring a unique blend of expertise across home, school, center-based, and community settings. My background spans both applied behavior analysis and family therapy, allowing me to approach every situation with a balance of structure, empathy, and collaboration. Whether I’m working with a child in the home, supporting a classroom team, or guiding parents through tough transitions, my goal is always the same: practical strategies that build trust, skill, and connection.

My journey began at Cal State East Bay (back when it was still Hayward), where I earned my Bachelor’s in Speech Pathology and Audiology. I spent those early years as an inclusive preschool teacher working with 3- and 4-year-olds, and it was there that I discovered the power of behavior analysis. I knew I wanted to give kids a strong foundation for their educational journey—a bright beginning, if you will.

I restarted as a behavior technician, working hands-on with children in homes, schools, and community settings like grocery stores and parks. Seeing the deep connection between behavior and family systems, I returned to school to pursue a Master’s in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy, alongside my BCBA coursework. I wanted more than behavior strategies—I wanted to help whole fa milies shift toward healthier, more supportive dynamics.

Kimberly Bellomo M.S, BCBA
Founder/Director

Since becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2016, I’ve held roles as Program Supervisor, Clinical Director, and eventually Executive Director of a non-public school. I’ve worked across the spectrum—from early intervention to intensive behavioral classrooms—and I’ve learned that the most lasting progress comes when we make behavior support accessible, human, and collaborative.

That’s why I created Bright Beginnings Learning Center. It’s the place where I get to combine my professional experience with my real-life role as a mom of two boys (plus three dogs and a cat!). I know what it’s like to sit in IEP meetings, worry about meltdowns in public, and wonder ifyou’re doing enough. That’s why Bright Beginnings is built for you—the parent who’s doing their best, the educator who needs a partner, the family that wants real support without judgment.

Let’s build something brighter—together..

At Bright Beginnings We Believe:

  • Behavior is communication—and kids do well when they can.

  • Families are experts on their children.

  • Support should be doable in real life—at home, at school, and everywhere in between.

  • Collaboration matters. We work with you, not just for you.

Our Approach

The LIGHT Framework

We use the LIGHT approach to guide every service we provide:

  • L – Listen: Start with understanding, not assumptions

  • I – Individualize: Tailor support to each child and family

  • G – Grow: Build skills and confidence at a sustainable pace

  • H – Highlight: Focus on strengths while supporting needs

  • T – Team Up: Partner with caregivers, teachers, and teams

You don’t need to know all the behavior jargon—we’ll walk through it together and make it make sense.
